"Most Lucians are ruthlessly efficient and highly skilled. And then there's Gordon Klose. It's not that he doesn't try. He does. It's not that he doesn't care. He does. It's just that he RARELY gets anything right. The Lucian branch would have cut him off a long time ago, but Gordon has a brother high up in the organization who looks out for him. So the Lucians set Gordon up with a job at Section 7, a secret branch of the US government, and asked him to spy on the people around him. Gordon's reports haven't been that great so far. But the Lucian leadership doesn't care so long as he's not bugging them."
