Teahupo'o is a legendary surf spot off the coast of Tahiti, an island in French Polynesia. The enormous waves attract surfers from around the world, which makes Teahupo'o a hotbed of Tomas activity. It's where the Tomas perfected "tow-in surfing," a technique that allow s surfers to catch waves that are too big and too fast to paddle out to. In the tow-in method, surfers are towed to a wave by a jet ski or helicopter. Cahills from other branches like to watch from the beach, hoping for a massive Tomas wipeout.
